THE PROPERTY

Based in Chassagne-Montrachet, Armand Heitz has taken over the family estate and leads his boat with plots that awaken the taste buds just by pronouncing them: Chevalier-Montrachet, Pommard, Volnay, Meursault and also Juliénas. Committed, invested and hardworking. He is a wine producer, breeder of cows and sheep in Burgundy with the common thread: the terroir without filter.

THE WINE

It is one of the most emblematic wines of the estate. I have been working this terroir since 2013, my first vintage. It is a terroir with a singular personality, totally the opposite of the cliché of a Pommard. This image of rustic and masculine wines is totally reversed by the elegance and finesse of Clos des Poutures. A light colour that I like to keep.

Located south of Pommard and below the very famous Pommard 1er cru Rugiens, the Pommard 1er Cru Clos des Poutures is a monopoly of the estate.

Soil : composed of clay and silt, well balanced agronomically and easy to work. This terroir is quite draining and allows to produce fruity, complex and long wines in the mouth.

Grape variety : Pinot Noir
