THE PROPERTY
From the beginning of the 18th century, under the impetus of the Seigneurie de Lafite, the commune of Pauillac was covered with vines. The wines of Milon serve as a source of income for the Lord of Lafite and are included in the “second wines” of Château Lafite, which already testifies to the recognized quality of the terroir. The owner of Lafite was then the Marquis Nicolas-Alexandre de Ségur, described by Louis XV as “Prince of the vines”.

After several successions, the Rothschild family acquired the estate in 1962. Duhart-Milon then comprised 110 ha of which only 17 ha were vines. Very important work is then undertaken in the vineyard: drainage work, uprooting and replanting, purchase of contiguous plots and consolidation of the vineyard by exchange of plots. New cellars and vats are also installed in Pauillac. From 1973 to 2001, the vineyard grew from 42 ha to 71 ha.

WINE
The word of the property: “Beautiful dress of a dark red with black reflections.
Its nose is still closed, but we can guess all the characteristics of a great aromatic potential. Depth, complexity and woodiness are already perfectly integrated.
On the palate, the attack is soft and silky. Then, gradually and keeping the same sweetness, the wine invades the mouth for a long time to reveal its fresh character, typical of the late terroir of Duhart-Milon. The very dense wine with tight and delicate tannins has a very nice persistence in the mouth. Everything is in place to guarantee him a great future. »
