THE PROPERTY

The Château de Cérons is a wine-growing Chartreuse built at the end of the 17th century on a terrace overlooking the Garonne River, in the heart of the village of Cérons, in the Graves region. It is surrounded by large stone walls. Xavier and Caroline Perromat took over the family property in 2012. Their challenge is to bring to the highest quality of these wines produced in one of the most confidential and ancient appellation of Bordeaux: Cérons.

The Domaine consists of 26 hectares of vines planted on the gravelly plateau with a limestone subsoil that dominates the commune. This terroir, with its unique soil and climate, offers the privilege of producing wines of three colors: red Graves, white Graves (dry) and Cérons (sweet).

THE WINE

“The 2020 vintage is particularly marked by a warm climate. The winter was mild, with little rainfall, accompanied by unusually warm temperatures. The budburst was early. The warm and humid spring favored an active growth. On the other hand, the summer was dry and very hot, slowing down the maturation of the grapes. Fortunately, we receive a succession of small stormy rains from mid-August onwards which boost the ripening of the grapes.

At harvest time, the grapes are beautiful, very healthy and have a remarkable organoleptic quality. The wines are rich, aromatic and precise. The vintage is generous and intense. A wine full of greed.”
