THE ESTATE

Guillaume and Aude Lavollée have taken over the reins of the family estate, covering 22 hectares located in Meursault. Domaine Génot Boulanger stretches from the Côte Chalonnaise to the Côte de Nuits, encompassing appellations like Chambolle Musigny and Clos Vougeot, as well as the Côte de Beaune with its exceptional white wines from Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet. In 2018, they completed a significant effort to elevate the quality and, most importantly, the precision of the wines, obtaining organic certification. It’s a domain where the precision and refinement of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir shine through in every cuvée.

All cuvées have been certified organic since the 2018 vintage.

THE WINE

This cuvée is sourced from three plots in Pommard, totaling 2.22 hectares. The plot “Les Cras” is located at the bottom of the hill and faces east. Its name is derived from the word “Cras,” which means “rocky slope” and is often used to describe a vineyard that is situated downhill. The plots “Les Vignots” and “La Chanière,” facing due south, are located on the hillside above Pommard, with more limestone-rich soils.

The wine presents a rich and heady bouquet, with very ripe and generous fruit that dazzles the senses, much like picking cherries and savoring every other one. An irresistible nose! The wine glides across the palate like a fruity hot air balloon: simultaneously round and expansive, with a low tannic presence, leaving a light and surprising impression for this appellation. It’s a Pommard that is both soft and airy in character!
