THE PROPERTY

Grand Cru Classé of 1855 known and recognized by amateurs all over the world.

Located on an exceptional terroir, respect for it has always dictated decisions. Aware of the impacts of production on the environment, the chateau is committed to the EMS (Environmental Management System) of Bordeaux Wine, based on the international standard ISO 14001 (certified since 2020) and in a High Environmental Value approach (level 3 since 2017).

Composed of about fifteen micro-terroirs, the vineyard extends over 60 hectares, running along an East-West axis on the southern part of the appellation.

The vines, which are 35 years old on average, stretch over gravel-siliceous alluvial soils from the Quaternary, which makes it one of the hottest terroirs in the region.

Cabernet Sauvignon thus develops with perfect phenolic maturation, while Merlot finds its breeding ground on clay beds.

WINE
A mythical 2016 vintage, the vines were awakened by a cool and humid spring. The dry and sunny beginning of summer saw the vines bloom. It rains very little that summer, the perfect conditions are met to color the berries, enrich them and slowly refine the tannins. An episode of rain at the end of the season perfected ripening for the harvest, just in time!

The nose of Duluc de Branaire-Ducru 2016 reveals a beautiful complexity of aromas and very fine red fruits, whose purity is reinforced by elegant floral aromas. Allowed to breathe, spicier notes subtly enrich a whole that shows a nice freshness. The mouth, very round from the attack, offers a beautiful fleshiness and an already pleasant suppleness. It develops on a tannic structure of great finesse. A beautiful liveliness accompanies the long and aromatic finish.
