Château Grangey « Le Cerisier » 2014
Fully matured, this fruity wine from the finest vineyards clay and limestone of the appellation. 70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc.
Château Grangey is located in the town of Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes, in the Saint-Emilion wine appellation area. Located on the hillside, it overlooks the Barbanne stream which marks both the northern limit of the town and that of the jurisdiction of Saint-Emilion, listed as a Unesco world heritage site. It is from 1756 that we find the first mention of Grangey, who was then a bourdieu dependent on a neighboring castle. Château Grangey belonged to Jacques II Dumas de Fombrauge until the French Revolution then was sold on several occasions until 1954, when Mme & M. Araoz, parents and grandparents of the current owners Claudine Mio and her son Franck, bought the property.
