Domaine Bongran Cuvée EJ Thevenet 2016

This Viré-Clessé (Maconnais – Burgundy) comes from 50 year old Chardonnay vines grown on soils where limestone outcrops on the surface. The vinification is traditional (in the noble sense of the word), with indigenous yeasts and a maturation of nearly 20 months in oak barrels. This wine is particularly mineral and has a generous and unctuous color. The Domaine only markets vintages deemed “ready to drink”, so this 2016 has just come out of the property’s cellars.
