THE ESTATE

Guillaume and Aude Lavollée have taken over the reins of the family estate, covering 22 hectares located in Meursault. Domaine Génot Boulanger stretches from the Côte Chalonnaise to the Côte de Nuits, encompassing appellations like Chambolle Musigny and Clos Vougeot, as well as the Côte de Beaune with its exceptional white wines from Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet. In 2018, they completed a significant effort to elevate the quality and, most importantly, the precision of the wines, obtaining organic certification. It’s a domain where the precision and refinement of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir shine through in every cuvée.

All cuvées have been certified organic since the 2018 vintage.

THE WINE

The upper valley of a stream was once called “chef val,” and “meix” represents a rural house in Latin. The plot is located on the eastern slope, halfway up the hill, right on the edge of the village of Meursault, just above the Clous stream. The Chardonnay plot, planted in 1970 and covering 0.50 hectares with a northeast exposure, allows for the production of quite lively Meursault wines. Its soil is very shallow, stony, and clay-limestone, with excellent water drainage. Furthermore, thanks to the Combes d’Auxey-Duresses, which are directly adjacent to the plot, there is a maintenance of cooler temperatures.

The majestic nose reveals the stony character almost translucent through the filter of fruity acidity. The notes of stone overshadow a garden of lemon trees, creating a very pure and radiant bouquet. The palate continues the olfactory adventure with vigor: an immense surge of freshness that concludes with salinity, and the retro-olfaction brings forth white pepper and aromatic herbs. The wine is launched, long, in contact with the stone, and it possesses a vibrant quality.
