Founded in 1650 by Jacques Verdery, an ancestor of the Guinaudeau family, Le Grand Village is the birthplace of our winemaking family. Château Grand Village Rouge is perhaps the wine that best embodies their journey today. Sylvie and Jacques have experienced over 40 harvests at Le Grand Village.

THE WINE
Château Grand Village Rouge comprises approximately 10 hectares of clay-limestone soils. The vineyards are cultivated using sustainable practices. The grapes are hand-harvested with a double manual sorting process in the vineyard and a third sorting at the winery. The vinification takes place in stainless steel and concrete tanks, with gentle macerations and careful extraction of tannins. The wine is then aged for 12 months in barrels, of which 30% are new.
Château Grand Village Rouge is now a complete red wine. It combines nobility and balance. It has become, in a sense, the “Village” of Lafleur.
