Domaine Vincent Pinard « Florès » 2020 – Sancerre

THE PROPERTY

In the wine-growing village of Bué, the Pinard family has made its estate one of the most emblematic of Sancerre. Over the years, the brothers Florent and Clément constantly push their limits to draw a relief of flavors ever closer to their terroirs, both in viticulture (conversion to organic, control of yields, optimal maturity of the grapes, etc.) and in the cellar. (work on yeast strains from their vineyard for fermentation, lengthening of aging in demi-muid, reduction of sulphite doses, etc.). “Florès” is an excellent introduction to understanding the stylized and perfectly calibrated approach of the whites. The intensity then rises with identity cuvées from localities, from the saline and chiselled “Petit Chemarin” to the austere and elegant power of “Chêne Marchand”, via “Le Château”, with a comforting density. The reds are not to be outdone with increasingly pure high-concentration materials. The wines go up another step this year. (Source RVF).
