THE PROPERTY

Located on the right bank of the Loire River, the Domaine du Bouchot is the pioneer of organic agriculture in the Pouilly Fumé PDO since 2006. Its 10 hectares of Sauvignon vines are planted on the southwestern slope of the village of Saint-Andelain on Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soils. The configuration of the estate, isolated in the center of its vineyards, allows a precise biodynamic work, the vinifications that follow are done with few interventions and the wines produced express all the finesse of a preserved terroir.

2018 marks the arrival of Antoine Gouffier, a young winemaker and child of the village, who takes over the Kerbiquet family with great energy. While traveling around the world, this baroudeur decided, like Ulysses, to return home. After 12 years between New York, California, Argentina, Africa and the Middle East, between trade, commerce and catering, he had to settle on a domain.

His young wife helped him to do so. Soon she will be a stakeholder in the business. With Pascal Kerbiquet, his mentor, prophet of the Bio and Pygmalion of the biodynamy, he found his haven in Bouchot: the half-solitude of the craftsman for a fan of discoveries…

THE WINE

The wine offers us a pale golden color with notes of white flowers, apricot and peach. The mouth is complex, thirst-quenching, with a mineral and precise finish.

A wine of a beautiful appetence which calls easily for the second glass.
