Guillaume and Aude Lavollée have taken over the reins of the family estate, covering 22 hectares located in Meursault. Domaine Génot Boulanger stretches from the Côte Chalonnaise to the Côte de Nuits, encompassing appellations like Chambolle Musigny and Clos Vougeot, as well as the Côte de Beaune with its exceptional white wines from Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet. In 2018, they completed a significant effort to elevate the quality and, most importantly, the precision of the wines, obtaining organic certification. It’s a domain where the precision and refinement of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir shine through in every cuvée.
All cuvées have been certified organic since the 2018 vintage.

THE WINE
Located in the heart of the village of Aloxe-Corton, this plot encompasses a portion of the “Les Meix” locality, which once belonged to the Canons. These Canons were significant vineyard owners in Burgundy in the 13th century and were part of the colleges surrounding the Bishop of Autun: the cathedral chapters, from which it gets its name. The vineyard, exclusively planted with Pinot Noir, consists of vines of three different ages, averaging around 50 years. It covers 0.97 hectares and is situated at the base of the hill, facing south. The soil is reddish-brown with numerous siliceous nodules and fragments of flinty limestone.
The nose is serene, displaying a harmonious combination of fruitiness and mineral mystery. In these serious aromas, one can sense the influence of the monks. The texture is silky, with measured tannins, yet the wine has great depth, a fleshy and almost athletic character. It exudes a gourmet quality, and its long stony finish betrays an exceptional terroir. A true wine for aging, born to endure, both in the glass and in the cellar!
